PTCA, or percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, is a minimally invasive procedure that opens blocked coronary arteries to improve blood flow to the heart muscle. The total recovery time is 2 to 3 months.
Start walking after the procedure and gradually increase the pace.
Keep the incision site clean and dry.
Avoid sports or strenuous activities, such as golf, tennis, running or yard work.
Do not drive for two or three weeks, unless your doctor approves it.
Light activities such as cooking are allowed after 2 weeks.
