The history of Ratanpur, the sacred mythological city of the goddess Mahamaya Temple located 25 km away from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh, is ancient and glorious. There are several proven temples of Goddess Mata in India, in which 51 Shakti Peeth of Mata has always been of special religious significance for devotees. One of these is the Mother Mahamaya Devi Temple located in Ratanpur in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh. The divine and magnificent temple of Shri Adishakti Maa Mahamaya Devi, is approximately 1000 years old. It was built in the 11th century by Raja Ratnadeva first.
