Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this etrailer 12 foot long e-track strap with the ratchet. Has a 1,333 pound working load limit, and this is for a quantity of one strap. Now, for this video, I've actually attached it to a piece of e-track, just to show you how it attaches. The e-track is not included, we do sell that separately.
This is a heavy duty cargo strap. It has the fittings at both ends that'll secure to the e-track anchor points, and it will work on both horizontal and vertical e-track, and even the x-track. The ratchet strap attaches to the slots anywhere along the e-track. Perfect for securing your gear on any trailer walls or even on the floor. Now, I did wanna zoom in and show you that fitting.
Basically, if we detach it, you can see there is what the e-track fitting looks like. You can see it has the little lever here on the side. So, what you do is lift up that lever, drop it into the opening on the e-track, let it go, and it locks into place. And you'll do the same on the other end. That fitting is a nice, sturdy steel attachment point.
If you notice, has a nice rust resistance zinc finish to it. So again, you just pop it in there and we're ready to go. Now, the ratchet mechanism right here, this is a nice, sturdy ratchet mechanism, makes it very easy to tighten down the strap, maintain tension on this strap. You can also see that has a nice rust resistance zinc finished to it, also. What's nice on this, the handle on this, if we lift this up and show you, it has a nice, wide, hard rubber handle, gives you a nice, good grip, even if you're wearing gloves.
And the release lever also has a little hard rubber edge on here, and that release lever will disengage your ratchet when you're ready to unload or load. Basically, if you just pull this, put it into the ratchet position and you can see, you can tighten your strap down just like that. And then what's nice, if you need to unload or need to hook up and pull out some extra strap, you want to use the free wheel. You just pull up on this lever, put it all the way over this way, and then you can see, you can pull out, it free wheels the strap, you can pull out as much as you need. When you get to where you want it, put it back in the ratchet, and then tighten it down. Very easy to operate. The strap on this, it is a nice two inch wide, durable polyester webbing, almost like a seatbelt material. And it is abrasion resistant. And if you notice, the whole strap is a yellow, bright yellow color, so it makes it easy to see in day or nighttime. A few specs on this. The strap dimension is gonna be 12 feet long, two inches wide. The maximum load or brake strength on this strap is 4,000 pounds. But what's more important is the safe working load limit. That's gonna be a third of the brake strength. So, the safe working load limit on this strap is 1,333 pounds. And I do wanna mention the tie down straps and their accessories must be chosen by that safe working load limit. Basically, the weight of your secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the straps that are being used. So, just to give you an example, if you're using straps that have a working load limit of 500 pounds each, and you're tying down a load that weighs a thousand pounds, then you're gonna need at least two straps to safely secure that load. And usually all your straps will have a tag on them somewhere, where it will tell you the working load limit, so you know that. Now, it is also recommended that you use straps in pairs. This part number's just for one. We do also sell a part number that would be a quantity of two. And it comes with a storage bag, and that's part number E44PR, and it's listed on this product page as a related product. But that should do it for the review on this etrailer 12 foot long e-track strap with the ratchet and the 1,333 pound working load limit.
