(15 Jul 2014) A spectacular display of fireworks fired from the Eiffel tower illuminated the Parisian sky on Monday as France celebrated Bastille day.
This year's theme was "War and Peace", commemorating the centenary of the World War I.
Thousands of people gathered at Trocadero square to enjoy the 35-minute-long show, which was accompanied by classical music.
This is the first time since 2002 that the fireworks were fired from the Eiffel Tower.
Bastille Day marks the July 14, 1789, storming of the Bastille prison by angry Paris crowds that helped spark the French Revolution.
