BEAUMONT - Local churches came together to pray for peace in Syria, the Middle East and the world.The event took place at St. Anthony cathedral basilica on Jefferson Street in Beaumont.Bishop Curtis Guillory of St. Anthony cathedral organized the event.The participants fasted and prayed that world leaders find a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria where according to reports about 1400 people including women and children have died as a result of chemical weapons.
