Amber Jackson has always loved Hawaii and is finally living her dream life on Kauai, where she moved permanently in 2000. When the popular 57-year-old secretary for the Hawaii State Teacher’s Association doesn’t show up for dinner with friends on June 24, 2010, they report her missing. Nine days later, a wild hog hunter stumbles across Amber’s badly decomposed body, hidden in a ravine in a remote and inaccessible part of the island, where she has been dumped after being brutally murdered. Investigators quickly focus their attention on Amber’s tenant and former boyfriend, who rents a yurt on her property. But then they hear about another man who neighbors say has some explaining to do. Twelve years later, Amber’s murder is still unsolved, and her friends and family have come together to demand justice for the woman they say was a free spirit and guiding light.
