Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said Boris Johnson has remained stable overnight and is receiving standard oxygen treatment.
"He has not required any mechanical ventilation," he said.
Speaking at the UK's daily coronavirus press conference, he said: "He's not just our boss, he's also a colleague, he's also our friend."
