(24 Feb 2016) Ted Cruz is shaking off his disappointing third-place finish in Nevada, telling supporters in Texas, "there are only two people who have won one of the first three states. Donald Trump and me."
Cruz appeared in Houston with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, his mentor and former boss, who today endorsed Cruz.
Texas offers the biggest delegate prize on Tuesday, and Cruz's campaign is depending on a solid win in the state to survive.
Without mentioning Nevada winner Donald Trump, Cruz said Texas won't be swayed by "blustery rhetoric" and that "the time for the clowns and the acrobats and the dancing bears has passed."
