A modern classic, the col de Romme climbs steeply straight from the valley floor above Cluses and into the heart of the Chaine des Aravis. With nearly half of the climb averaging over 10%, it's a tough one, and is brutal right from the word go! It is also usually combined with an ascent of the Col du Columbier to make a really tough day. Its getting towards the end of the road season now, so there may not be many more episodes until next spring after this...
