MIDWEST RAIL RANGERS VIRTUAL EDUCATION PROGRAM #1 - 6/24/2020
Join Robert & Kandace Tabern with the Midwest Rail Rangers for a special behind-the-scenes tour of the Wisconsin Great Northern's Sky Parlour Car. The Sky Parlour Car once serves as a Hi-Level Lounge Car on the Santa Fe's El Capitan train... and on Amtrak's Coast Starlight as a Pacific Parlour Car. Now in private ownership after being sold off by Amtrak in 2019, the car is owned by the Wisconsin Great Northern in Trego, Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Great Northern partners with the Midwest Rail Rangers to provide onboard commentary and history programs. Our tour will include a look at more than 50 pieces of Santa Fe and Amtrak memorabilia. The Midwest Rail Rangers is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that normally presents onboard educational programs on the South Shore Line (Chicago to South Bend), the Wisconsin Great Northern Sky Parlour Open Houses, on private rail excursions across a seven-state area, on Amtrak charters organized by the 20th Century Railroad Club, and at various outreach events. Due to the COVID-19 virus, we have decided to offer virtual programs to the public instead... until our in-person programs can safely resume on trains.
