Over 2500 pilgrims who were heading to Kedarnath Dham were rescued on Friday morning amid heavy rains in Uttarakhand. The pilgrims, stuck due to heavy overnight rains that triggered flooding, were in a perilous situation as water levels rose and the paths became impassable. Teams of police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) arrived on the spot in the early hours to carry out the rescue operations.
