Concert. Lecture. Discussion: Sound and Lecture N°11: Pieces without memory

The title "without memory" suggests that free improvisation is a momentary musical process of constant emergence and disappearance that does not build on concrete memory. However, the "Pieces" are conceptual: in each piece a timing of five minutes and a general break at the same time form the ever-repeated frame. The philosopher Alessandro Bertinetto makes this contradictory but improvisational fertile setting to his subject and weaves his statements into the musical structure.
