We are still in Krakow, but we head a little further afield into Kazimierz: The Jewish Quarter Krakow. Whilst it is a common misunderstanding that this was where the Jewish people were kept during World War II, that this was the Jewish ghetto of the city, it is not factual. Kazimierz is the district that Jewish peoples settled over generations of immigration into an accepting Poland. When the war struck Poland in the late 30s, these people were forced out of their homes and across the river to what would become the Jewish Ghetto of Krakow before they got shipped out to concentration camps like Auschwitz.
In this video we explore Kazimierz and the ghetto district, before finishing our exploration with a tour of Schindlers' enamel factory. We go through some of the history, what happened and who was Oskar Schindler.
