Today, we are going to be looking at the Paloma. It's a delicious mix of Tequila, Lime, and Grapefruit. It's a perfect spring and summer sipper. I will be making two variations as referenced below.
Paloma(Traditional)
3/4oz Lime Juice
Scant 1/4oz of Simple Syrup(optional if grapefruit soda is already sweet)
1.5oz Tequila
Top with Grapefruit Soda(whole food brand)
Build Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, and Tequila in a shaker tin with 3 large ice cubes and shake vigorously for 8-10 seconds. Double strain into an old fashioned glass filled with ice cubes. Then top with grapefruit soda of your choice. Garnish with a Grapefruit wheel inserted into drink.
Soda Recommendations: Whole Foods Brand, Squirt, and Ting.
Paloma(Fresh Variation)
3/4oz Lime Juice
.5oz Simple Syrup(or more if you want sweeter)
1.5oz Tequila
Top with 2-4oz of Grapefruit juice and a splash of soda water.
Build lime juice, simple syrup, and Tequila in a shaker tin with 3 large ice cubes and shake vigorously for 8-10 seconds. Double strain into an old fashioned glass. Then pour in grapefruit juice and soda. Give it a light stir. Now fill the glass quickly with COLD pebble or crushed ice and garnish with a grapefruit wedge.
