It was a day of sloganeering and heated exchanges in the Lok Sabha as several newly elected members took oath amid an intense slogan-shouting contest between treasury and opposition benches. BJP Mathura MP Hema Malini concluded her oath with 'Radhey, Radhey' and a phrase from a shloka in praise of Lord Krishna. BJP MPs ended their oath with loud chants of 'Bharat mata ki jai' and Jai Shri Ram. There were similar slogans from ruling party benches when opposition party MPs, especially from Trinamool Congress, got up to take oath.
