Stamford's Animal Control Task Force is continuing its meetings, holding its second Wednesday. The city says the task force is working to address the short and long term challenges at the animal shelter.
Though the meetings don't allow public comment at this time, many shelter volunteers and supporters of former shelter director Laurie Hollywood packed the room.
Mayor David Martin created the task force last month after Hollywood was accused of allegedly adopting out violent dogs. She was fired -- and turning herself into police, was brought up on three counts of reckless endangerment.
Last week, dozens rallied to show support for Hollywood, saying she is innocent. Also, an online petition is circulating, asking the city to make the shelter a "no kill" facility to save animals.
Currently, the shelter is adopting out animals but volunteers are not allowed on site.
Hollywood was arraigned in court today. We will have those details for you.
