So... what's a commodity? What about commoditization?
"Commodities" and "commoditization" are two terms people *think* they understand properly but unfortunately, most don't. Then, of course, as commodities and commoditization end up being used in discussions without being properly understood, then needless to say, those discussions add another layer of confusion to the equation.
Commodities are simple to understand and examples of commoditization are all around us, so commoditization is an equally accessible concept. If you're willing to invest a little bit of time (one minute and nineteen seconds, to be precise) to understand what a commodity is and what the commoditization of products/services represents, I promise you it will all make sense!
