I'm not an engineer - I'm just trying to help. All I can promise is that this worked for me. If you are afraid of destroying the board consider taking it to a professional or getting a universal Cellphone Battery Charger to charge the wireless battery without plugging in the tablet.
Some Additional Tips as per the comments: A few tips:
1. Do NOT depend upon the solder joints to physically hold/fasten the cable to the device. You NEED a good strain relief, otherwise it's just asking for more damage.
2. Using hot glue on a PCB is fine. Usually. Just make sure that the surface is very clean before application, and if at all possible, try to use it in a region WITHOUT traces (the little lines you see interconnecting parts on the PCB). Make sure the cable jacket and insulation on the wires is clean, too.
3. If you need to remove cured/set hot glue, simply apply isopropyl alcohol to the joint, and the glue will release like magic.
4. Electrical tape IS NOT a fastener. It exists to prevent continuity between two objects. Placing electrical tape over your solder joints will accomplish nothing, and will make later repairs more difficult because the adhesive doesn't always come away cleanly, often leaving goo on everything it touched.
The Wacom Intuos Pro Medium PTH650 is a great tablet and i've used mine for many years - but the USB connection is extremely fragile. Many artists sadly report that their tablet won't connect anymore and can not even charge the wireless battery.
Some people are experienced with electronics - but I was not. So fixing the issue took a lot of trial and error. I made this guide in the hopes of helping similarly inexperienced people avoiding my mistakes
