Teaching Strategies: Growth Mindset and The Value of Making Mistakes
In this video, I will share with you practical strategies to develop a growth mindset in your students.
I discuss the benefits of making mistakes and why sharing them with your students will help them to learn, take risks and develop risk-taking in their learning.
Show students that you are not perfect and that you make mistakes too, either in an area of weakness for you or when you are learning something new.
When we learn something new, we make mistakes, we figure it out along the way, and we aren’t perfect the first time or even perhaps the tenth time.
When you show students that making mistakes is normal, that when you are learning you are making mistakes it helps students to take risks with their learning and to try harder when the learning is difficult.
