The Speaker of the National Assembly Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula has resigned as speaker and member of parliament.
Mapisa-Nqakula submitted her resignation to the Acting Speaker of the National Assembly Lechesa Tsenoli.
The resignation is effective immediately. The ANC has confirmed the resignation of the Speaker of the National Assembly Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula.
The ruling party has also thanked Mapisa-Nqakula for her long service to the party and the people of South Africa
