AGIOS NIKOLAOS (Άγιος Νικόλαος) is a town in the Eastern part of Crete and the capital of the Lassithi Prefecture. Agios Nikolaos has approximately 20,000 citizens. The city has a small archeological museum and many sandy beaches. From Agios Nikolaos you can easily visit the Panayia Kera church, the village of Kritsa, the Lato excavations, the Mirabello Bay with Elounda and Spinalonga island.
