Sunset Beach is the southernmost of the Brunswick islands and is aptly named. At only three miles long you’ll be happy to find so much to see and do in this slow-paced laidback southern town. Who doesn’t want white sand beaches next to untouched sea oat-covered dunes and an abundance of seashells and wildlife including sea turtles? There’s a full-service pier reaching out to the water and plenty of shops and entertainment on the mainland to fulfill your needs. Spend some time at Ingram Planetarium or take a walk on the undeveloped Bird Island to pass some time. You won’t find overdeveloped boardwalks and high-rises here. Just untouched beauty and southern charm. Although Sunset Beach is mostly quiet and serene, a short drive will take you to the larger cities of Wilmington, North Carolina and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
