Bob Pellerin (CTOBOB) addresses the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid High Voltage Wiring Harness Corrosion Defect. Referred to as #CableGate on social media, the problem occurs after 2-3 years and affects SUVs with both low and high mileage. It affected the 2019-2021 models of the Hybrid. The Prime, although using a different model number, may also be subject to this problem according to some owners.
This cable is a major part of the propulsion system and is critical to the proper operation of the RAV4 Hybrid.

From our research, it is covered in the base warranty (3 years) and not in the longer electrical warranty. Should you have to replace the cable, expect a very expensive repair.
