Hello! I'm sure you're watching this video as part of your research process prior to dropping ~$800 for this tent. I was where you were a few weeks ago, and am now the proud new owner of this TarpTent StaroSpire Li (with full interior mesh) UL 2-person tent. I wanted to share my set up experience and take you on a tour of the inside and hope this helps in your decision making!

Other options I was looking into:
- Gossamer Gear The Two (check out the video in my channel). I initially bought it but it ended up being way too spacious for my needs and not light enough, and I returned it.
- ZPacks Duplex. I didn't order this, and these two tents are very comparable (although the Duplex is far more popular and is 7oz lighter). The TT StratosSpire Li really sold me over the Duplex with its mesh interior that I definitely plan on using separately for those perfect summer evenings.

My personal needs:
- I primarily hike solo with my dogs (they are 35 lbs each and medium size and sleep inside with me) and was looking to upgrade to a much lighter tent from my current Hubba Hubba NX 2-person which is too spacious for what we need. This was the perfect tent size for myself and my dogs with space inside for my pack.
- I needed a tent with a tough dyneema floor to protect from doggy claws and many people have said this tent holds up really well. I bought a Gossamer Gear polycro tent footprint just to protect it further.

Setting it up:
I set this up in a light breezy community park in Carmel, CA so obviously this is not a good replica of a real life scenario. I'm taking it out to the Eastern Sierras for a 3 night backpacking trip next week and will provide more feedback on set up in the actual wild.

I watched the TarpTent set up video once and was able to set it up relatively easily. I still need lots or practice :)
