You've got employees, and you may be thinking, "Okay, overtime is going to be anything over 40 hours in a week."
Well, you're not exactly wrong, but that's federal law. And again, we're in California. California overtime is going to be anything over eight hours in a day.
So, let me repeat that overtime is anything over eight hours in a day.
In addition to that, time that has not been promoted after you do that eight hour calculation, if there's anything left over in the week for over 40 hours, that will be overtime.
And if there's any work performed on the seventh consecutive day of the work week, then anything in that day, starting from minute one, will be overtime.
Then we also have double time, which is going to be anything in a single day over 12 hours worked, and then that seventh day will be anything over eight hours.
