³Per Wikipedia, during the year 2017, the binary system, KIC 9832227, was erroneously predicted as merging in 2022 and was predicted to produce a red nova reaching an apparent magnitude much like the North Star. The red nova was predicted as remaining visible to the naked eye for close to a month and the merger of stellar cores was said would give birth to a
massive main-sequence star.
