In the last few years 4k has become the standard that new cameras need to meet. But is it worth the extra problems; larger files, more fast cards, more powerful computers? In this video I', going to sue my Canon XC10 to look at some 4k and 1080p footage to see it shooting in 4k is really worth it.

During the tests the clouds were constantly changing so there are some changes in shadows, colour temperature and exposure, but hopefully it won't detract from the conclusions of my footage. If your internet is fast enough then I recommend watching in 4k as you'll get the most out of the comparison that way. Although YouTube does compress away some of the detail of the 4k files, you should still be able to see a difference.

All footage was shot on the XC10 - 1080p at 35mbps and 4k at 305 mbps. All the footage was corrected in DaVinci Resolve.
