Before the Lord of the Rings Aragorn served in both Rohan and Gondor under the name Thorongil. But after his return from an attack on Umbar he departed from Gondor and travelled East and South, exploring the hearts of Men both Evil and Good. And this begs the question? Why? Why did Aragorn suddenly decide to travel East and South?
Today on Council of the Rings I'll try and answer that question by presenting my own theory I came up with last year when a fellow Tolkien fan asked me this question.
