On March 7, 2017, Cyclone ENAWO in Category 4 hit the northeastern coast of Madagascar.
In support of UNICEF interventions, several donors, including the Malagasy private sector, responded to the call to contribute to the humanitarian response to Cyclone Enawo through the unconditional cash transfer program.
With financial support from the Galana Group Madagascar and other donors, UNICEF, BNGRC, and the Telma Foundation have been able to scale up the cash transfer program for the rapid recovery of 10,000 most vulnerable families; including families with a pregnant woman, or children under 5, or disabled or elderly people, who have lost their homes, but also their livelihoods.
