STORYLINE
The Commander in Chief of British Forces in Iraq said on Tuesday the UK would continue "to support the Iraqi security forces" in Basra.
Major General Graham Binns, Commander-in-Chief of British Forces in Iraq, said there had been "a period of relative peace and stability in Basra, following the successful handover of Basra Palace and the repositioning of British forces from the city."
