Artists and scientists collaborate to respond to one of the most challenging times in living memory.
In late 2019 and 2020, Australia experienced the catastrophic 'Black Summer' bushfires. In the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area fire affected 80% of its one-million hectare wilderness. Habitats suffered significant damage, in some places with permanent loss and decimation of species.
Citizen scientists are working with the Blue Mountains World Heritage Institute to monitor the recovery of flora and fauna after the bushfires. This short film shares the story of how the community used creative arts to share their learnings and experiences in the aftermath of the fires.
