I figured out how to add batteries to your Ridgid account when you are faced with the timeout bug. It looks like the account is the problem, not the phone, app or battery. If you clear data for the Ridgid app, skip logging in, add the battery, then log in everything works.
As a side note, it looks like the app my not have been designed with more than a few batteries in mind as you can see at the end of the video.
