This is my first ride on this in its new home as I last was on this in its original home in Battersea Park in the early 1970s & since the demise of Battersea I assumed this had long been consigned to the scrapheap. But thanks to Dreamland she has been given a new lease of life & it is wonderful to ride this again after all these years. The Hurricane Jets dates from around 1956 and is only 3 years older than myself! and nothing is known of its origin and who actually built it or indeed how many sets were actually built as it is known it was a popular ride in the 1950s and presumably many sets were built but sadly many have been lost forever & this is believed to be (unless someone knows otherwise) the last surviving example of this particular ride which makes it very special indeed and if it was not for dreamland this particular ride would have become extinct as it was left abandoned in a dreadful state and was rescued just in time before it became unrestoreable. Now it is fully restored at Dreamland she is better than new & I following the debut ride was on her a gain a further 2 times! Thank you Dreamland for bringing this long lost ride back to life.
