We are proud to announce the 2023 World Gasshuku will be held from Oct 21st-24th in Naha, Okinawa, Japan. Patrick McCarthy Hanshi invites you to join him for 4 days of world class instruction, World Karate Day celebrations and much more during this 11 day package.
The Program – 11 days in the birthplace of Karate, beautiful Okinawa
We have an amazing program lined up for World Gasshuku participants including world class martial arts instruction with Patrick sensei and senior KU instructors, cultural and history tours, fully catered dinner events in spectacular locations, exclusive event goods, participation in World Karate Day (Oct 25th) celebration events including the 10th 100 Kata Challenge and opportunities to add on more dojo visits or activities such as scuba diving, kayaking, hiking and much more.
Event Schedule is as follows:
Oct 19th – arrival at Naha airport in Okinawa and check into hotel. We will arrange airport pick up and get you to your hotel.
Oct 20th – Welcome Dinner for Gasshuku participants. Meet Patrick sensei and other participants and enjoy a fully catered meal with drinks
Oct 21st – Seminar Day 1 at the Budokan in Naha
Oct 22nd – Seminar Day 2 at the Budokan in Naha
Oct 23rd – Seminar Day 3 at the Karate Kaikan in Tomishiro
Oct 24th – Seminar Day 4 at the Karate Kaikan in Tomishiro followed by Celebration Dinner
Oct 25th – World Karate Day and 100 Kata Challenge event (location TBA)
Oct 26th – 29th – free days. Please ask the Gasshuku team for tour & activity options and recommendations. We can also assist with additional local dojo visit arrangements.
Oct 30th – check out of hotel by 11am
