The first film in the Heaven's Feel trilogy, Presage Flower, has already taken Fate/Stay Night anime to new heights. Universally known as the darkest of the three routes, that reputation is clearly well-earned. At times, I lost sight of whether I was watching Fate or pure horror. However, what makes Presage Flower so effective is not only in its well-composed action and stirring soundtrack, but a softer, human touch to its leads not often seen in Fate anime. Here, I offer my thoughts on what was a breathless new entry in this iconic franchise. Enjoy!
