Meet Ahlam Khan, the beautiful daughter of 'Gabbar' Amjad Khan
Amjad Khan aka Gabbar was a remarkable and diverse actor of the Hindi film industry who played characters such as Gabbar Singh in ‘Sholay’, Wajid Ali Shah in ‘Shatranj Ke Khilari’ and Akbar in ‘Meera’. The actor had three children with wife Shehla Khan - two sons, Seemab Khan and Shadaab Khan and a very gorgeous daughter, Ahlam Khan.
Star kids are expected to follow their parents’ footsteps but Ahlam chose to stay away from the limelight and focused her career in theatre. Losing her father at the age of 15, Ahlam said that she ‘grew up’ overnight.
Ahlam has now grown up to be an epitome of beauty. Let’s give you a brief introduction of who is Ahlam Khan.
Ahlam has worked extensively in the field of theatre and is one of the most glamorous faces of Indian theatre. She has also been awarded with the Best Actress Award at the Mahindra Awards for Excellence in Theatre (META) for her outstanding performance in Purva Naresh and Vijay Naresh’s ‘Aaj Rang Hai’.
Ahlam Khan is an alum of Mithibai College. In 2000, she graduated from Mumbai University with a Masters degree in English Literature.
Ahlam co-founded the Not Quite Theatre banner and under it produced plays such as ‘Off Season’. She also did some screenwriting.
Once during an interview, Ahlam said that she has no fascination or allure for the film industry. “Maybe that is because I’ve seen it up close. I chose theatre and yes it was a conscious decision,” she said.
In 2013 Ahlam made her film debut with ‘Miss Sundari’, a screen adaptation of the stage play, ‘Miss Beautiful’. She has also acted in Bijoy Nambiar’s 2005 short film ‘Reflections’, starring Mohanlal.
In 2011, Ahlam got married to theatre actor Zafar Karachiwala and the couple has a seven-year-old son Mihaail. She calls motherhood the most life changing experience.
