Karol-Warner | Soil Permeability Testing Equipment
Be more accurate in your strength and permeability testing of soil and geosynthetic membranes with Karol Warner Geosynthetics testing equipment.
Karol-Warner's GEOSYNTHETICS TEST EQUIPMENT meets the most stringent demands of modern-day soil and geosynthetic testing, and is designed to ensure efficient, precise, and accurate test predictions to evaluate the field performance of soil reinforcement and stabilization geomembranes for pavements and embankments.
The Karol Warner Large Direct Shear Machine test the shear resistance between a geosynthetic or a geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) as well as the shear resistance of the contact surface of a large soil sample in accordance with ASTM test specifications (ASTM D5321, D6243).
A rugged and reliable pneumatic system applies vertical confining loads to the sample. Horizontal shear loads are applied to 12in (304.8mm) square samples by gear-driven pistons. Two smaller pistons apply lighter loads up to 1,000lbf (4.5kN), and either one or two larger pistons (depending on the model selected) apply loads up to 10,000lbf (45kN) or 20,000lbf (89kN).
The design of the Large Direct Shear Machine stands up to the most severe laboratory environments. Steel parts are powder coated and aluminum parts are anodized to resist corrosion and a long service life.
Included are Four-Channel Data Readout, two 1in Linear Variable Displacement Transducers, two 12 x 12in square 0.5in thick porous stones, Drainage plates, Compaction table, Water chamber, and a Calibration chart.
The Karol Warner Soil Geotextile Permeameter is used to determine the permeability and clogging characteristics of geotextiles in accordance with ASTM gradient ratio method test specifications (ASTM D5101) (Six Manometer Panel - sold separately - is required).
The permeameter consists of three acrylic chambers and anodized aluminum end caps, as well as all required valves and stainless-steel support screens, AND is held together with three stainless steel clamping rods.
