A British woman is on life support and not expected to survive after she fell into a hole covered by snowdrift while snowboarding in the French Alps.
Emily "Mimi" Watts, 26, from Lavenham, Suffolk, was snowboarding in the Grand Montets skiing area near Chamonix on Saturday when she performed a jump a couple of meters off-piste and fell head first into a 1.5-meter (5-foot) deep hole created by snow ploughs. She lost consciousness and was trapped in the snowdrift for 45 minutes before rescuers arrived.
According to the Daily Mail, Watts went into cardiac arrest before rescuers arrived.
Watts family was not notified until Sunday because she was not carrying identification at the time of the accident. Watts is on life support and is not expected to survive.
