Today, BSO, along with our local law enforcement partners, announced our public safety plan for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend.
On Monday, people across the country will reflect on the achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The holiday honoring Dr. King is spent by many in service and celebration of his life. In recent years, however, riders of dirt bikes and ATVs have illegally taken to South Florida roadways putting residents and motorists at risk. BSO, along with our local law enforcement partners, want to ensure this day remains safe for all.
We want to assure the Broward community that traffic safety and enforcement measures addressing the unlawful ATV/dirt bike rideouts are in place. Should you encounter any traffic violators, please do not engage. Remain in your vehicles and call 9-1-1 in case of an emergency. If dialing 911 is not an option, you can text to 911.
