Delhi's mayor Shelly Oberoi, just a few weeks ago claimed that the municipal corporation was fully prepared for the monsoon, assuring that people of Delhi would enjoy the season. However, her claims have clearly fallen flat. Heavy rain caused significant trouble not only for the general public but also for prominent politicians. A video showed Water Minister Atishi's home submerged after the downpour. Congress MP Manish Tewari struggled to cross his own balcony due to flooding outside his house. Shashi Tharoor posted a video of his home, fully submerged in water. Additionally, an SP MP had to be lifted on staff's shoulders to navigate the waterlogged streets.
