From the WWII maquis of Troostemberg ( B ), where a MkIV transmitter was used by the NKB resistance in the month of Aug 1944, with a 18m endfed wire pulled up into the trees.
I went in to that forestcamp to commemorate these men exactly 76 years later, by transmitting QRP from the same spot, also on a endfed wire and the Albrecht AE 2990, a low power multiband 11m handheld. I modified the modulation patern, because it suffered a lot of distortion in the VFO with full mic gain. A 10µF capacitor replacement offered the perfect solution.
With only an output of 2.5 W on SSB modulation, 2 nice contacts were made !
