Europe’s first 18m ultracapacitor e-bus was tested in Sofia

We at Chariot Motors are proud of the latest product – 18m UC e-bus that has already been tested on the streets of Sofia, Bulgaria.

The 18m articulated UC e-bus is the first of its kind in Europe. Sofia tested it in a pilot project along the No84 and 184 bus routes linking the city centre with the airport. The e-bus runs without batteries and covers the 50km round trip after just a few minutes’ charging. This makes it perfect for urban transport.

The new articulated 18m UC electric bus is the result of joint efforts by the Israeli-Bulgarian company Chariot Motors, China's largest bus manufacturer Higer, and world-leading ultracapacitor maker Aowei. Cutting-edge ultracapacitor technology enables the vehicles to reuse braking energy using what is called recuperation and helps them reach previously unattainable ranges.
