Russian and Chinese warships have successfully conducted anti-submarine firing exercises in the northwestern Pacific Ocean, as confirmed by the Russian Defence Ministry on October 14. These exercises were part of a joint patrol initiative in the Asia-Pacific region. According to Interfax, the Russian Pacific Fleet's press service indicated that the naval forces of both nations commenced joint patrols following their participation in the Beibu/Interaction 2024 naval exercises in September. During these previous drills, which Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted as a response to U.S. presence in the Pacific, both countries engaged in missile and artillery firing. This collaboration underscores the growing military ties between Russia and China as they seek to enhance their operational capabilities in the region.
