Shahrzad is accredited with many firsts in the media and technology industry. She pioneered both the technology and business model that made peace between big entertainment companies like Warner Brothers and the NBA and the fans who were pirating and uploading their content online. She was recognized for this in 2011, as the only Canadian on Fast Company's 100 Most Creative People in Business list, for this achievement. In September, on the heels of closing what was the largest investment into a Canadian Internet media company since 2007, Shahrzad oversaw the first Canadian launch of technology designed to increase views for YouTubers.
