In this video I'm going to review alternative ways that you can adopt unifi devices to a controller that is not on the same subnet as your devices to be adopted. We'll review how to use the command line using the set-inform command, how to use DNS (with pfsense) to automatically have devices connect to your controller, and a brief review of using the discovery program.
There is another way to point devices to your controller by using hexcode in your DHCP leases but because this method doesn't always work i chose to not go over that method. If there is enough interest in it then i can make a separate video on it.
