First of all, happy Halloween guys and gals 🎃😁😎🕺 I wish y'all some happy, safe spooks!
anyways this is Arum Itallicum, an interesting type of Sword shaped Arum Lily. it has so many interesting features, I just had to make a video on it. It has a Spadix form bloom, which emerges in early to mid summer. It is pollen - rich and attracts a whole roster of beneficial insects. Ot had striking wands of highly compacted berries that persist into the early fall, after the foliage has died back. This is a shade living plant, doesn't mind too much moisture, and is not fussy about soil nutrient profiles. It like do be planted at a depth of at least 3 inches, deeper in well aerated soils. It's cold hardy and perennial. Naturalized easily, and spreads which is nice too. It is HIGHLY toxic for human consumpiton. The leaves have a rippled, undulating margin and leaves emerge basally. The plant easily regenerates from pieces of the rhizome, which makes it easy to divide. I recommend dividing after leaf bud set, usually in March in northern climates. This plant will also self seed and birds spread its offspring all over the yard giving it an eventual randomized pattern in the established garden landscape. This plant closely resembled the North american native plant Asrisaema triphyllum, a trillium like perennial also known as Jack in the Pull Pit. This plant is invasive in far western European ranges.
Have a good day you guys! feels good to post another video. Stay safe out there, and once again for those who celebrate it, Happy Halloween muahahah🎃🎃🕺🤟🏻
