In this video, I will show you how I knit my headband knitting pattern "Stirnband 1" step by step. I'll show you how to start the headband and take you by the hand until the very end. I do recommend you download the pattern first, as this will probably make it a bit easier to understand my instructions. Knitting this headband takes about 8 to 10 hours and I fast-forwarded through a lot of sections.
We will start this headband with a provisional cast-on using a crochet hook: (here's my tutorial [ Ссылка ]). You can pick any other provisional cast on method as well.
I'll show you how to knit a size S and you have to cast on 132 stitches (at least if you knit with the same yarn/gauge). The pdf pattern will tell you how to adjust the headband to your size with cast-on recommendations.
After a section in the 1x1 rib stitch ([ Ссылка ]) you will fold the headband, knit some stockinette stitch and then follow up with the Fair Isle part. The ribbing is knit with the 2.5 mm needles, the st st with 3.0mm and the colorwork on the 3.5mm to maintain the same give across the whole headband.
You'll finish the headband with a 3-needle bind-off ([ Ссылка ]) but you are doing it purlwise to mirror the fold-line at the bottom. I always transfer the stitches to a separate needle before binding off.
You should absolutely consider blocking the headband (around a tubular object or a balloon). Cashmere will only get its famous halo after the first wash and it will also help to even out the colorwork.
