The good thing about ND filters is that you can create a darker exposure with out having to increase your F stop, which means you can create those nice bokeh effect, shallow depth of field or have your subject or object blurred in the background or foreground or have longer exposure for those daylight wave like water pictures ,with out having to increase the F stop .
