What does a custodial person mean for child support purposes in Oklahoma?
And that is a term that is defined by Oklahoma law. You can find it in Title 43, Section 118-A, Subsection 4.
And what that says is that custodial person means a parent or third party caregiver who has physical custody of a child more than 182 days per year. So essentially the person that has more than halftime.
Halftime or more of the child per year is considered the custodial person for child support purposes. And that generally determines who's going to receive child support and the other party's going to potentially be paying child support, but it's not always that simple, but that is that definition.
