JCB announced its return to the North American paving market earlier this year with the launch of two Vibromax-branded double drum compactors, the CT160 and CT260.
JCB acquired German-based Vibromax Compaction Equipment in 2005, but the equipment has not been available in North America for over a decade.
James Gill, JCB product manager, says, since then, the machines have been “tried and tested in Europe” and he has “absolute confidence” in the rollers as they enter the U.S. market.
Gill gave Equipment World a complete overview of the CT160-100 at the recent ARA Show. Get a closer look at the roller in the video above.
The 3,946-pound CT160-100 has a 31.5-inch drum and is powered by a 19-horsepower Kubota engine. It is designed to compact and smooth various surfaces, including gravel, concrete, asphalt and granular soil.
